Family Education Initiative

About Us

Overview

Family Education Initiative, established in 2007, is a woman-owned nonprofit organization composed of diverse subject matter experts. We are passionate about working with individuals, youth, families, communities, organizations, education institutions, and governmental agencies to help solve problems through proven research and life coaching best practices. Our founder Gale Wilkins is the former Executive Director of the North Carolina Council for Women & Youth Involvement and a certified life coach. She created Family Education Initiative to proactively address the issues affecting North Carolina’s youth and families.

Project Arrow, a subsidiary organization of Family Education Initiative, is a coaching and leadership program for middle school, high school, and college students implemented throughout five schools and one community program in Granville County. Project Arrow teaches students how to become leaders and develop healthy responses to trauma and stress relative to substance use disorder, bullying, mental health, and the perceived need to possess weapons for protection. Project Arrow’s custom online LMS (learning management system) trains students remotely through modules and encourages communication with peers.

We view all of our client’s problems through the lens of a life coach.
